Ophelia Melons #88
"Born rough and rowdy, Ophelia was pegged for a "roller derby queen" before she could have ever strapped wheels to her feet or know what the hell her parents were even talking about. Flash 20 years later when she found the answer to filling the void that post-collegiate athletes tend to be left with; She found her way to the Los Angeles Derby Dolls, at first as a fan, then as a referee. After being a skating referee for two years in LA and picking up a thorough understanding of rules and strategy as well as footwork and control, she transplanted herself to Eugene, Oregon, where she found her niche as a skater for the Emerald City Roller Girls. In her first season, she would become a first-string blocker for the ECRG All-Star team, The Skatesaphrenics, be drafted to the Church of Sk8in' and later be voted co-captain, as well as being a member of the board of directors and member of the training team. The future is bright for this rambunctious star who many describe as a heart breaker, a ham, and intense skater."
